I have also served as an Associate Professor and the Chairperson at the Department of Computer Science, BUITEMS, Quetta, Pakistan. I completed my Ph.D. at Istanbul Technical University, Turkey in 2019. During my doctoral studies, I had the opportunity to be a Visiting Scholar at some renowned universities such as the University of Tokyo, Japan, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, and Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia. My working experience with different international universities from Estonia, Turkey, Pakistan, Taiwan, China, Japan, have enabled me to gain insights into diverse academic and professional standards.
I was listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in 2024 by Stanford University and Elsevier, showcasing my academic impact. I am recognised for supporting learning by SEDA, UK and committed to fostering diversity and accessibility within higher education. As a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), I actively pursue professional growth. I am recommended by HEC Pakistan as an approved Ph.D. supervisor. Additionally, I am an IEEE Senior Member and a Professional Member of the British Computer Society. I have also served as a reviewer for funding bodies such as the British Council and Chevening Scholarships, in addition to participating in various academic panels and leading conference sessions. I am currently serving as an External Examiner (2025–2029) for the BSc Artificial Intelligence program at De Montfort University, UK, and for the PGCE Information Communication Technology and Computing Course at Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK.
I have led and taught numerous courses related to Computer Networks, Data Science, Machine Learning, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Programming Languages, and Software Engineering both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have supervised over 20 postgraduate students and have co-supervised 3 PhD candidates successfully.
I have published over 30 research papers in reputable Q1 journals, with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 100. I have also presented several research papers at prestigious conferences. My work has garnered more than 2,200 citations, and I have an h-index of more than 20. As a researcher, my academic pursuits focus on exploring innovative technologies such as Machine Learning, Data Science, Software-Defined Networking, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
I have secured funding of approximately £50k under the UKRI-funded and Alan Turing Institute-led DTNet+ call as Principal Investigator (PI) working on AI-driven digital twins for optimising energy efficiency in Positive Energy Districts. Throughout my academic career, I have been actively involved in funded research projects as a Co-Principal Investigator and Project Lead for various projects. My research portfolio spans these key areas, leveraging an interdisciplinary approach to drive technological advancements. I concentrate on applying these innovations to shape the digital future and adapt to emerging technological trends.
